The Widgeroo Series
A series of novels and short stories set in the Discordian world of Widgeroo.
I was attempting to write an occult road trip with the first book, and it pretty much exploded outward from there. Blending in a healthy dose of Lovecraft into the later short stories, I felt they pretty much succeeded where I wanted them to.
In many cases, the writing bordered on the bizarre, as I also explored the fun side of writing.
Two examples of these stories are the Chaoist of Nung Nung Valley and Home.
The first book to this little series has been self-published. The first book, The Zombies of Widgeroo, is an occult road trip in which an unnamed mage discovers he’s not quite what he thought he was. As an exploration of Discordian Magic theory and Chaos Magic theory, the book blends all sorts of beliefs and plays with them to establish a new set of beliefs. I wanted to both tell an interesting story while toying with convention. This edition includes the complete and unedited version as well as the unedited and infamous Chapter Nine, which is known for being somewhat unconventional in its lack of “tells” for where one flashback begins and ends as it almost merges seamlessly like a bizarro stream of consciousness. I am proud of this, even though I wrote it some ten-odd years ago.
You can not only buy it at the link below, but I believe it should shortly be floating around on Amazon.
